The new Parking Terminals optimize vehicle flow, minimize human interaction, and enhance user convenience — all powered by Metrici's advanced AI and edge computing technologies. The solution consists of two hardware devices: an Entry/ Exit Terminal placed at the entry barrier with a touchscreen and camera, and a Payment Terminal with a touchscreen and integrated online payment for cashless payment, positioned visibly throughout the parking lot.

The Entry Terminal handles every situation — from seamless LPR recognition to intelligent fallback options when a plate can't be read.
Scenario 1 — Automated LPR Entry
License plate recognized and authorized
At arrival, the system automatically detects and records the vehicle's license plate using high-accuracy AI algorithms. The plate number and entry timestamp are securely stored in the database, initiating a parking session without the need for tickets or access cards.
By default, the system works with action lists — it knows if the license plate was correctly read and grants access rights instantly. This intelligent entry mechanism not only speeds up access but also provides parking operators with precise data analytics, including stay times, occupancy rates, and vehicle tracking for operational optimization.
Scenario 2 — Driver Confirmation
Plate read but not on the action list (or misread)
The recorded plate is displayed on the touchscreen with two options: "Is this number correct? — Yes / No." If it's a misread for a plate that IS on the action list, the driver can show their own QR code (generated by Metrici when their license plate was registered) to the camera. The barrier opens immediately.
Scenario 3 — QR Code Virtual Ticket
Plate not recognized, missing, or driver selects "No"
A QR code is displayed on the screen containing the location, camera ID, and timestamp. When scanned by the driver, it opens a unique virtual ticket with an access code and QR code. The driver saves it and clicks "Open Barrier" on screen. The parking session begins. Either the number code or QR code will be used to pay at exit — instead of a license plate.

The terminal displays the calculated fee based on parking duration, time-of-day rates, and configured timetables — full transparency before payment.

Payment is processed via contactless technology — tap your card number or use your digital wallet. The entire transaction completes in seconds, with no cash handling and no physical receipts.

Virtual Receipt & Barrier Release
After payment, the user receives a virtual receipt for confirmation. The code is used at the exit barrier to open it — maintaining full system continuity and user satisfaction.
