As the problem of bears entering populated areas and sometime attacking or chasing people in Romania is increasingly growing and doesn’t seem to find an end, Metrici developed its cutting edge software solutions to detect and trigger alarms when a bear its detected. Metrici anlyzes streams from IP cameras looking for bear or other wildlife.

As interactions with bears and attacks are becoming alarmingly frequent, Metrici put its AI capabilities to work and did a training for the neuronal network to recognize different kind of animals.

First installation and tests were already conducted in some areas where, on recent years, bears are getting more and more courageous and frequently enter people yards and wandering on city streets.

When a bear is detected an alarm is triggered and Metrici server may send a SMS alert to all people located in the area, to local authorities, law enforcercement agencies or to a special number with the exact coordinates were the bear was seen. Can also activate other devices such as sound alarms or lights.

Metrici can also recognize / detect domestic animals like dogs, cows, sheep with the purpose to trigger alarms when they are on the road and presenting possible threat to traffic safety and are a menace to human life.

It is also a possible solution to farms to keep count and track livestock.

As usual, it can also detect the direction of movement for the recognized objects and can automatically activate warning signs or other hardware devices that can deter the animal away.

For example, when an animal is detected, Metrici is able to change some electric signs to indicate a threat has been discovered or can trigger audio alarms, thus offering an early awareness to people .
