The Mission

A strategic city that needed better security

Râmnicu Vâlcea sits on one of Romania's busiest traffic corridors — local authorities needed reliable surveillance to prevent crime and reduce fraud.

The City

Ramnicu Valcea is the largest city in Valcea County, with nearly 100,000 residents, strategically positioned at the intersection of three national roads and a major European corridor. It's a key junction connecting the Bucharest-Pitesti highway to the Sibiu-Nadlac highway.

The city sits on one of Romania's busiest traffic corridors, making it a critical point for both regional and international transit.

The Problem

Local authorities wanted to create a safer environment — improving surveillance, preventing crime, and reducing fraud. Before Metrici LPR, they had tried other license plate detection solutions with poor results.

Working with the integrators and the local police department, Metrici LPR was installed at strategic entry and exit points across the city.
