Mission
The city of Ramnicu-Valcea is the biggest of Valcea county, with a population of almost 100.000 residents and strategically positioned at the crossroad of three national roads and an important European one. In fact it is a nodal point on the road that connects the Bucharest- Pitesti highway to the Sibiu - Nadlac highway. It is on one of the most heavy traffic route of Romania.
The local authorities were keen to prevent any crimes and wanted to develop a more safety and security environment, have a better surveillance and prevent fraud and crimes.
Solution
Together with the integrators team and local police department, Metrici LPR was successfully installed at strategic points, when entering and leaving the city, on 8 cameras.
Our solution was tested on cameras located on the main exit road of the city, where it processed images coming from one-way traffic lanes, as well on cameras located on a two-way street, both roads carrying a great deal of traffic.

Results
Before Metrici LPR, local authorities used some other solutions for license plate detection, with very poor results. No need to say that after a one month trial, they soon discovered in Metrici LPR the solution they needed for their purposes.
The city is now monitored from one main control centre, for a maximum safety level. The complex database is also the foundation for a better management of traffic in key points within city limits.
