Mission
With the Palestinian conflict in mind and the particular environment of Israeli settlement, some local authorities felt the need of a more secure area.
The local kibbutzes which needed to be monitored had some unique particularities, which meant a more challenging work for Metrici LPR team and integrators:
Solution
Nearly 2000 cars (including heavy-duty trucks) transited the gates of the city in one single day. Local authorities already had video surveillance, but the staff needed to continuously watch all the cameras and manually check the status of the traffic, which was neither cost efficient, nor possible, as the team was rather small.
Metrici LPR team implemented a solution made up of 2 cameras (positioned when entering and leaving the city), 1 license for Metrici BL (standard software package) and 1 license for Metrici EL (extended software package).
The entire solution was implemented on Ubiquity long range wireless and special additional measures to prevent the over heating of the technical equipment were taken.

Results
After the success registred in Bnei Dror, more communities decided to use the same Metrici LPR solution for a better security.
Metrici solution now allows local authorities to receive accurate statistics in real time. In fact, after this special challenging project was implemented, Metrici LPR was substantially improved: the software got un substantial upgrade regarding special plates detection.
At the location the authorities can detect all the suspicious cars, monitor and manage the traffic and also receive immediate alerts on incidents and keep the local population safe.
Plus, local developers integrated Metrici LPR in special parking machines. Metrici LPR detects the plates and, integrated with a third party software, generates a parking ticket with the number and time of arrival. This it will be used for paying the stay.
